Does Your Child Have Celiac Disease?

Welcome to R.O.C.K. San Antonio also known as ROCKSA

R.O.C.K.S.A. stands for Raising Our Celiac Kids in San Antonio.  We are parents who deal with our own celiac children everyday.

Who wants to start meeting?

UPDATE: For a variety of reasons that I will not mention here, we stopped having regular ROCKSA meetings.   If anyone needed questions answered or help with food choices, we would invite them to our house on an individual basis.  We have noticed that more and more children are being diagnosed with Celiac Disease and feel that there is a need to begin having regular ROCKSA meetings again.

The structure of the meetings will follow the bulleted "questions" below but the main focus will be to let our children know they are not alone, that there are TONS of GREAT things to eat and that you don't have to stop living because of Celiac Disease.

No child is too young and no child is too old - From Toddler to Preschool to High School - Celiac Disease does not differentiate between a baby or someone in High School and neither do we.  The one thing we may ask is that if you are out of High School, you may want to look at what the local Alamo Celiac support group has to offer.

If you are interested and want to join us please call or send us an email to let us know.  Here is our contact  information:

Do you want a place where you can…

  • Learn more about Celiac Disease and how it affects your child at school and at home?

  • Share information, swap recipes, and compare stories?

  • Try new Gluten Free Products and hear about what is hot and what is not?

  • Learn tips and tricks about eating at local restaurants?

  • Get suggestions and tips on traveling?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then R.O.C.K.S.A. could be just what the doctor ordered.

Raising Our Celiac Kids is here for you.

We hope that the information provided on this site will be helpful to everyone who accesses it but our goal is to provide information and assistance for everyone in the San Antonio area.

As we grow, the information contained here will too.  Until then, please bear with us as we get organized.

What does this mean to you?  Here’s just a few:

  • Share - Have regular meetings to share what we have found – Good or Bad.

  • Recipe Swap – I’d like to put a recipe page on this site so please share whatever you find

  • Snacks – What’s hot and what’s not

  • Parties – There are plenty of GREAT cake and cookie recipes.  And maybe a little ice cream as well

  • Restaurant information – I think this is something we’re all looking for help on.

There are so many things we can do if we just get started.  If you have any ideas for this site please send me an email at: info@kidceliac.com
